“Unheard Voices: the loss of indigenous peoples and native ecosystems” is a glimpse into the struggles that face the several hundred tribal communities of West Papua. Hidden away from the world, these tribes are fighting for their existence under a violent political regime and are under constant pressure from the development and exploitation of natural resources. Several years after Avatar became the largest grossing motion picture, the plight of indigenous peoples and the fragile ecosystems that support them is largely unheeded.
